1. Who we are and scope
This policy explains how cs2gambling.ca ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information when you visit our website. We operate as an editorial publisher and are not a gambling operator. We aim to follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Quebec's Law 25 where it applies. By using the site you accept the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
If you contact us, subscribe to a newsletter (if offered) or submit feedback, we collect the details you choose to give, such as your email address and message. We do not require you to create an account to use the content, simulators or tools.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information such as browser type, operating system and screen size.
- IP address and approximate location (city or province level).
- Pages viewed, time on page, referral source and clicks on links.
- Cookie and similar identifiers, described below.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for payment card details, bank information, Steam passwords, API keys or trade URLs. Please never send them to us. Our simulators and calculators run locally in your browser, and entered values such as bankroll or bet size are not sent to our servers unless stated on the tool page.
3. How we use information
- To operate, secure and improve the site and its tools.
- To understand which content is useful and to fix errors.
- To measure clicks on affiliate links and pay our bills; see affiliate disclosure.
- To respond to messages and requests.
- To meet legal obligations and prevent abuse or fraud.
We rely on your consent, which can be implied for ordinary website use where permitted, and on legitimate business purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic and attribute affiliate referrals. Categories include:
| Type | Purpose | Can you refuse? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Basic site function and security | No, required for the site to work |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic and content performance | Yes, via browser settings or consent tools |
| Affiliate tracking | Records that a visit came from us, so a partner can credit the referral | Yes, but offers tied to our code may not apply |
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if you do. Browser features such as Do Not Track vary in how sites honour them, and we may not respond to all signals.
5. Affiliate links and third parties
Links on our site take you to partner gambling sites, to Steam and to other third-party services. When you click, those parties may collect your information under their own policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their practices. Read their privacy policies before registering. Gambling sites generally require identity checks; that data goes to them, not to us.
We may share limited information with service providers who help us run the site, for example hosting, analytics and security providers. They may only use it for those services. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it. Analytics data is generally kept in aggregated form. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, such as encryption in transit and access controls, but no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and provincial laws you can generally:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it is used.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
- Complain to us, and if unresolved, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial regulator.
To make a request, contact us using the details in the site footer. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
8. Children
Our site is intended for adults who are of legal gambling age in their province (19 in most, 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. If gambling content is a concern for you, see our responsible gambling page for blocking tools and helplines. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. See also our terms and about page.
10. Contact
For privacy questions, access requests or complaints, use the contact details in the site footer and mark your message "Privacy".
